Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Proverbs – part 220

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare in Proverbs — kellporten @ 16:11

Prov. 24:25
But those who rebuke the wicked will have delight …

If we look at the original text for this scripture we see that “rebuke” can also be translated “judge”.

We have a position of authority because of Jesus ‘ victory, and we are called to use that authority against the evil spiritual world. We have the right, and the responsibility, to stop evil spirits from stealing, killing and destroying. But, in order to do so, we must identify the evil spirits.

In order to judge the wicked we have to look behind the way people behave. We need to realize that behind a person’s bad behavior there is often an influence from the evil spiritual world. This does not mean that we whitewash a person’s responsibility, but in order to administer justice we need to see the whole picture.

When there are evil spirits involved, they must be rendered harmless. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8), and He has given us the same mission.

Many think they will have problems if they fight against the evil spiritual world, but God’s Word says quite the opposite. Those who rebuke the wicked will have delight.
