Scripture:

Prov. 25:2
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

Comment:

The Word of God is always the same, but it is significant that we allow the Holy Spirit to reveal it to us. When a scripture “opens up” for us, we see things we haven’t seen before, even though we have read the scripture many times before.

God can hold back a revelation. It is not necessarily revealed to the large and established churches and preachers.

Luke 10:21
In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.

What revelation was Jesus rejoicing over? What was it that the father had given to “babes”? We find the answer in Luke 10:17.

Luke 10:17
Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”

God chose not to give the revelation, of our authority over the evil spirits, to “the wise and prudent“, but to the “babes”. In other words, it was not the theologians who got the understanding, but those who followed Jesus and did his will.

There is a risk that we receive from God only what the ‘large’ churches and preachers have first approved. This applies especially to teaching about spiritual warfare, and it is an explanation why there is such ignorance and delusion concerning our mission to deal with the evil spiritual world.

Scripture:

Prov. 18:10
The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.

Comment:

We can easily think that the scripture talks about running to Jesus when we are in difficulties, and of course, we must turn to him with our problems. But, we need to understand that when we use the name of Jesus it is a strong protection.

To proclaim the name of Jesus is to claim His victory and authority.

Matt. 28:18
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

The victory of Jesus is complete, and we release that victory by using His name.

How is the name of the Lord a strong tower? The answer is, when we use His name the evil spirits are forced to back off.

Mark 16:17
In My name they will cast out demons …

The evil spirits are forced to obey when we command them to back off in the name of Jesus.

Luke 10:17
Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”

When we react to evil spirits by using our authority, in the name of Jesus, they will gradually have to realize there is too big a cost for attacking us. That way we become a protected area for ourselves, our families and for those who choose to come close to us.

Let’s run to the strong tower and be safe, i.e. let’s be quick to use our authority over the enemy in the name of Jesus.
