Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Proverbs – part 21

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 12:41

Scripture:

Prov. 3:5
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

(Swedish version: Count on Him in all your ways, and He shall make your paths straight.)

Comment:

Count on Him …

What does it mean to count on Jesus? It can, of course, mean that we should count on the fact that He sees us, hears us, and intervenes to help us. But, it can also mean that we trust in His power, when we command the enemy to back off from ourselves and from people around us.

Count on Him in all your ways

Jesus has promised that He will be with us always, to the end of time (Matt 28:20). He is with us all the time, and in all circumstances. We might not always notice, but He is there.

When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego were thrown into the fiery furnace, God could have easily extinguished the fire. Instead, Jesus went with them into the fire, and they came out of the trial unharmed. He does the same for us. He doesn’t take away our trials, but He walks with us, through them, and He sees to it, that we come out of them.

He shall make your paths straight

Jesus makes our paths straight, but we need to understand how He does that. He gives us authority and guidance to command the hindrances to leave the path set before us. There is no trial hard enough, that our authority cannot make the enemy flee.

Rom. 8:37
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

We are more than conquerors, thanks to Jesus’ victory.
