Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – 279

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 17:07

Ps. 143:12
And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies …

(Swedish version: “Root out my enemies for the sake of your mercy …”)

… mine enemies …

We must never forget who our real enemies are. Eph. 6:12 says we are not fighting against flesh and blood, i.e. men. We fight against evil spirits.

Eph. 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The evil spirits often use people to attack us. Since we see and hear the person who is a tool for the attack, and don’t see the spirits who influence him, we easily forget the latter. That way the evil spirits attain two victories for their attacks. They hurt us, and they make animosity between us and the person they are using for the attack.

The bible tells us to love people who act as our enemies.

Luke 6:35
But love ye your enemies …

When we allow the love of God, which He has given to us through the Holy Spirit (Rom. 5:5), to flow out from us to those who are used by the evil spirits, we are protected from getting caught in the trap of the enemy.
