Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – 274

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 15:44

Scripture:

Ps. 143:10
Teach me to do thy will …

Comment:

We are protected when we are in the will of God.

David was aware that he was involved in a war, and he was also aware of how important it was to be in the will of God. We need to be aware of that too. We cannot revolt against God, walking on a side track, and at the same time expect our spiritual defense to work. The more we understand the importance of being in the will of God, the more we will try to get further into His will.

Notice that David says, ”Teach me to do thy will”. We can be tempted to tell God what we think His will should be, but God should not adjust himself to us. We need to adjust ourselves to His will.

God has given us His Word, the bible, so we can know His will. Therefore, if we really want to get further into His will, we need to read His instruction book often, and on a regular basis.

Ps. 119:105
… Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

We have also received a Helper, the Holy Spirit, who is here to guide us into all truth.

John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

(Swedish version: “But the Helper …”)

John 16:13
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth …

We have the means for getting to know the will of God. If we, in humility, receive the truth, the Holy Spirit will lead us further and further into God’s will. And in that way, we are being more and more prepared for the spiritual war.
