Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – 273

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 15:53

Ps. 143:9 (NAS)
… I take refuge in You.

(Swedish version: “… In you I seek protection”)

Just like in an ordinary war, spiritual warfare is not just about attacking the enemy, it is also important to have a safe place to fight from.

What position do we have in the spiritual fight? We find the answer in Eph. 2:6.

Eph. 2:6
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

We are here on earth, and it is here we meet and fight in the spiritual war, but our spiritual position of protection is in Jesus Christ at the right hand of the Father. We cannot have a better position.
In our position of authority, we are seated far above, all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named.

Eph 1:20-21
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

We can be tempted to seek protection in other things, instead of in God. But, a good economy, a good job, good contacts, many friends etc. do not give us the protection we need when we make spiritual warfare.

Ps. 62:6
He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
