Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – 270

Ps. 143:8 (NIV)
… Show me the way I should go …

Serving God, means to follow Him, and His way.

In order to become effective in spiritual warfare, like in every other service for God, we must be aware of the guidance of the Holy Spirit. What seems to be right, can in the end, turn out to be wrong.

There are those who say we are free to do what we think is best, that is within God’s limitations of course. We could compare it with a football field, where you have to stay within the field, but you can place yourself wherever you think is the best. Such a thought might seem good, but we must understand that God has planned our lives in detail. He has a special position for each of us.

God doesn’t call you to serve Him, and then watch you struggle to get there. He has a plan for every single step, for every part of the way. Of course that doesn’t mean you are forced to do exactly what God has planned. You have a free will and the right to make your own choices. But, in order to get into the fullness of God’s plan you need to listen to Him and obey Him.

Out of our eagerness to expand the Kingdom of God, we may easily act out our own ideas and calculations, but that way we loose power. It’s only when we act according to God’s plan that we become effective.

Isa. 30:21
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
