Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – 268

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 14:00

Ps. 143:8
Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love …

(Swedish version: “Let me in the morning experience your grace …”)

It is important to have the right view about what grace is.

Grace is a gift from God. We do not deserve it. If we did, it would be a salary, not a gift.

Rom 4:4
Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.

(Swedish version: “ … not because of grace but something he has earned”)

Grace also means God’s ability. There is a limit for our ability, but God’s ability is unlimited. It’s grace when God lets us act beyond our ability, that is, he gives His ability to us. Paul gives us examples of that.

1 Cor. 3:10
According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation …

1 Cor. 15:10
But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

David, in Ps. 143:8, says; ”Let me in the morning experience your grace”. We can interpret the scripture as if he asked for God’s ability from the beginning of the day. We should also ask to experience God’s grace early in the morning.
