Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – 240

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 16:11

Scripture:

Ps. 141:5
… Yet my prayer is continually against their evil deeds

Comment:

Pray AGAINST evil spirits, but FOR people.

David explained, in the beginning of verse 5, that he was ready to receive tough corrections from those who had a right heart. At the end of the verse he spoke about those who did evil deeds. He said he would pray against “their” evil deeds, and we might think he meant people, but it is not people who are our real enemies. However, they are often used as tools for evil spirits. It was the evil spirits who were David’s enemies, and they are our enemies too. It is a sad fact that many Christians are praying against the persons who the evil spirits use, instead of confronting the spirits.

We need the help of the Holy Spirit to discern if we should receive correction from people around us, or if we should confront evil spirits trying to use those people to attack us. But, under no circumstance are we called to pray against people. We are called to pray FOR them.
