Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – 236

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 14:59

Scripture:

Ps. 140:13
Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name …

(Swedish version: ”The righteous shall praise your name ….”)

Comment:

In previous parts (177 and 195), we mentioned that righteousness among other things means to have the right to the victory. Jesus gives His righteousness to every one who receives Him as Lord. We are made righteous by Jesus, which means we can take everything the bible says about the righteous personally.

This scripture says that we, who are made righteous, should praise the name of the Lord. The name Jesus is more than just a name. It stands for authority and victory. When we proclaim the name Jesus, things take place in the spiritual realm. The name Jesus is one of our spiritual weapons, and Jesus has told us to use it.

Mark 16:17
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils …

John 14:13
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

To praise the name of the Lord means to worship and give thanks for the name Jesus. We thank Him for His victory and for the authority He has given to us who have received Him as our Savior. But let’s not just praise the name Jesus in worship, thanksgiving and prayer. Let’s also use His name to speak commands against the evil spirits in order to make them back off.

The more we use the name Jesus, with faith in the power it represents, the more reason we will have for praising Jesus for manifestation of His victory.
