Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

It is not all about spiritual warfare.

When we begin to understand spiritual warfare, and especially our authority in Christ, it can be such a great thing for us that we loose the perspective. It is important that we don’t automatically solve every problem by commanding evil spirits to leave.

David said that he hated God’s enemies, the evil spirits, with the strongest hatred (verse 22). Then he asked God to reveal to him, all that was wrong with his soul (verse 23). We need to do the same.

Jesus taught that it is not enough to use our authority. In order to be saved we need a right relationship with Him.

Matt 7:21-23
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

As long as we are still here on earth we have the possibility to get it right with Jesus in the areas where we have gone astray. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you every need for change in your life, confess your sins, and receive forgiveness and cleansing.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
