Ps. 139:21-22
21 Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.

Comment:

Eph. 4:30-31
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

Paul says, ”Let all … anger … be put away from you”, while David says, “I hate them with perfect hatred”. So should we hate or not? The answer is, it depends on who we hate. We must not hate people, but we need to hate the evil spiritual world.

We are called to forgive persons who act wrongly against us. We should pray for them and bless them. That is the opposite of hating them.

Matt. 6:12
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Matt 5:44
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

1 Pet. 3:9
Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

But, when dealing with the evil spirits, we are supposed to be totally merciless.
