In this teaching series we have spoken a lot about the importance of spiritual warfare. Many believers think that God will do everything on His own, without us, but it is not so. He has chosen to use us, as channels for His power.

We also need to remind ourselves that we can do nothing without God and His power.

John 15:5
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

We need to be absolutely dependent on the close walk with Jesus, in order to be able to serve God. That is true, not only for spiritual warfare, but for every kind of ministry.

When we have a close relationship with Jesus, our inward man grows. It’s a process where we are transformed more and more into His likeness. God has a plan for the total restoration of our lives, and He is able to fulfill it, if we do what we should do. It’s still up to us to use the authority that has been given to us.

John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

(”power” = exousía = authority)

Spiritual warfare is not just about fighting against principalities and powers over places, but most of all, it is about our personal freedom. In all that, God is at work. He fulfills His purpose for us, when we choose to follow Him in obedience.
