Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – 205

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 13:59

Scripture:

Ps 135:14
For the LORD will judge his people …

(Swedish translation: “For the Lord will provide his people with justice …”)

Comment:

The Swedish version translates ”judge” with ”provide with justice”. God’s judgment provides his people with justice. We are used to looking at God’s judgment as something we should be kept from, and that, of course, is true. But, the judgment of God can also set us free! God set us free when He made His son, Jesus, receive the judgment for all our sins.

And, there is yet another aspect of the Lord’s provision with justice, i.e. His judgment.

We have an enemy, the evil spiritual world, who wants to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). The enemy often accuses us, and it’s easy to receive those accusations. The evil spirits aim is to make us receive the accusations, and then make judge, and condemn, ourselves. But the fact is, the evil spirits are to be judged, by us!

Jesus disarmed the evil spirits when He took the authority from them.

Col. 2:15 (ESV)
He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.

When Jesus disarmed the evil spirits, He didn’t bind them, and we are aware that they are still around us. But, it’s not the will of God that the evil spirits should be free to keep on harassing people’s lives. He has sentenced the evil spirits to jail, and it’s up to us to pronounce that judgment, to bind them in the name of Jesus, and to command them to go down to the abyss (a prison for evil spirits).

When we have received Jesus as Lord in our lives, we have the right to pronounce God’s judgment over the evil spirits. Jesus will perform the final judgment over them. He will cast them into the lake of fire.
