Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – 197

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 15:17

Scripture:

Ps. 130:4
But there is forgiveness with thee …

Comment:

God forgives. What a wonderful truth! And His forgiveness is immediate and total, if we confess our sins to Him.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

A very common attack from the evil spiritual world is to make us think there is no forgiveness for us. The evil spirits know that if we come to God and honestly confess our sins, we are forgiven. Therefore they try to make us hide from God. That was what Adam and Eve did.

Gen 3:8
And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

Instead of hiding ourselves, we need to run to Him who forgives. Jesus came, He was beaten and bruised, and hung on a cross to die for us. Jesus forgave and asked His Father to forgive those who persecuted Him. In Him we find forgiveness.

There is also another aspect of forgiveness. We are called to forgive.

Col. 3:13 (ESV)
… as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

You might say, ”But I’m not able to forgive”. Then have a look again at what it says in the scripture.

But there is forgiveness with thee …

You can receive from God the forgiveness you are not able to give. He gives you the ability to forgive, if you ask Him. But the question is, Do you want to forgive?

When we ask God to forgive our faults, and when we forgive others, the power of the evil spiritual world is broken. Each time you obey God, in this, the demons loose their grip, and Jesus’ victory at Golgotha is manifested.
