Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – 194

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 16:40

Scripture:

Ps. 129:2
… yet they have not prevailed against me.

Comment:

In the two previous parts we have talked about attacks on children and youth by the evil spiritual world, and we said that many of the problems which people have as adults are due to such attacks. It’s easy for us to accept our situation and spend our lives without getting into the fullness of God’s plan. But, there is a restoration!

In Ps. 129:2 the author first states, “Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth”, but then he says, “yet they have not prevailed against me”. What a triumphant proclamation!

Another triumphant proclamation was made on the cross at Golgotha, when Jesus said, ”It is finished!” It was there, Jesus won the victory for us, and made it possible for us to get rid of our problems.

The truth “greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4) is true for us who have received Jesus as our Lord. That doesn’t mean we will not be attacked, but it means the enemy can never prevail against us.

The bible says that God thinks thoughts of peace towards us.

Jer. 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

The original Hebrew word for peace is ‘shalom’, which not only means peace, but restoration to a condition as if nothing ever went wrong. It’s about time that people get help to understand that God has a plan of restoration for them, regardless of what they have gone through in their lives.
