Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – 191

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 13:20

Ps. 128:3 (ESV)
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table.

God’s will for a family is that it should be blessed. But the thief wants to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). The enemy wants to split families. There are many who have experienced attacks on their family, and then ask, “Why has God allowed it to happen?”

Verse 3 is referring back to verse 1 where it says, “Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in his ways”. And as we have said before, making spiritual warfare, is a part of fearing God.

God does His part, but we must do our part. In this case our part is to use our authority, and drive away every evil spirit who harasses our families. Neglecting spiritual warfare means, to allow the enemy to keep on attacking.

A preacher once said, “My family is well known in the evil spiritual word.” I among many, thought, “Poor family”, but the preacher went on, “and the evil spirits know that No Trespassing is allowed!”

Our families need to be an area of ‘No Trespassing’ for the enemy. But for that to happen we must make spiritual warfare. We must show the evil spirits that we mean business, by immediately dealing with any spirit who tries to attack. In order to get there we must stop focusing on each others faults, and instead, we need to see the enemy behind what is taking place.
