Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – 190

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 16:22

Scripture:

Ps. 128:2 (ESV)
You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.

Comment:

God’s good will and desire for us is, that we shall enjoy the result of our work, and that it shall be well with us. Yet we don’t always see His good will manifested. In those situations many are ready to receive the lies of the enemy, e.g. ‘God isn’t good’, or ‘He doesn’t care about you’. A more refined form of a lie is that God cannot bless us since we are not living for Him like we should. All the time the truth is that the thief has probably stolen the blessing, that God had meant for us.

There is a thief who wants to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10), and it’s important how we act. We need to understand that if we choose not to do spiritual warfare, we allow the enemy to keep on stealing.

In order to take back the blessings that have been stolen from us, there are some conditions that must be fulfilled:

1. We must know that God is good ALL the time, and that He wants to bless us ALL the time.
2. We must know there is a thief who wants to steal the blessings from us.
3. We must know that our position of authority is far above the thief
4. We must command the thief to back off, and we must demand back what belongs to us.

Let’s now apply these four conditions to Ps 128:1

Ps. 128:1
… Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in his ways!

The four conditions that have been mentioned are a part of fearing the Lord and walking in His ways.
