Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – 180

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 22:12

Ps. 126:1
… When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream

… we were like them that dream

Vulgate and Septuagint translate the last part of this scripture, ”… we were comforted”.

What this scripture is saying is, when God delivers us, it’s so overwhelming we might think we are dreaming. The freedom that God has for His children is far beyond our imagination, and we might have to pinch ourselves to check whether we are awake or not.

When God comforts, He doesn’t tap our heads saying, “It’ll be better in heaven”. God’s comfort means total freedom for us to serve Him here and now. The Comforter, the Holy Spirit, has come to guide us into ALL truth, even the truth about the freedom that Jesus has bought for us with His blood. The problem is God’s restoration goes far beyond our apprehension. Because of that it’s hard for us to receive what the Holy Spirit says, when He wants us to take further steps.

We need to wake up to the fact that there is more freedom to obtain. It’s that kind of freedom the church is meant to act from, in these days.
