Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – 147

Ps. 68:12 (ESV)
“The kings of the armies–they flee, they flee!” …

We, the believers, have been on the run too long. We shouldn’t be running from the enemy. The evil spirits should be running from us.

This scripture speaks about the ’kings of the armies’, that is the principalities. It’s not just speaking of some little demons, but of ‘kings’, about the principalities, powers and rulers who are mentioned in Eph. 6:12.

Eph. 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

When the leaders of an army flee, the private soldiers cannot efficiently keep on fighting. They might try, but there is no leader there to co-ordinate the attacks. It’s the same with the spiritual battles. When the principalities are made to flee, the demons are weakened.

Jesus said that He has given us the power over all the power of the enemy, not just the ability to cast out some demons.

Luke 10:19
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

It’s time for us, the body of Christ, to start realizing our position of victory, even over the principalities.
