The enemy’s weapons: Anger – part 3

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 12:48

In the last part, we said that our anger can cause great damage to other people when we release it against them, and that it also can cause great harm to us if we keep the anger within us. In this part we will look at how we can get rid of the anger in the right way.

Against whom should we release our anger?

If we aren’t supposed to release our anger against other people, and we shouldn’t keep anger within ourselves, what should we do? The answer, is, we shall release our anger against the enemy, the evil spiritual world.

By releasing the anger against the enemy …

• we confront the real cause why we get into conflict with men
• we avoid hurting other people
• we get rid of the anger, so it cannot harm us

But what about Eph. 4:26?

Eph. 4:26
“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,

How do we sin in our anger? We sin against others when we release our anger against them, and thus harm them, and we sin against ourselves when we keep the anger within and let it hurt us. We should do neither.

What does it mean that we should not let the sun go down while we are still angry? The answer is, we should not keep the anger, but be quick to release it against the enemy.
