Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – part 136

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 17:09

Scripture:

Ps. 55:9-11
9 … I have seen violence and strife in the city.
10 … mischief also and sorrow are in the midst of it.
11 Wickedness is in the midst thereof: deceit and guile depart not from her streets

The spiritual climate of a city can be changed.

When we see the things mentioned above happening in our cities, it is easy to despair, or be discouraged. But we should remind ourselves that the spiritual climate can be changed. It’s the church, and nothing but the church, that can make that happen.

How can the church change the spiritual climate? It is done in several ways, and the first we want to mention is prayer. God has a solution for every situation in a city, but He always makes His solution manifest as an answer to prayer.

Another tool for changing the spiritual climate is worship. True worship accomplishes many things in the spiritual world, and it makes the enemy flee.

Something else that changes the situation of a city is when people are getting saved. The goal of course is the salvation of every person. That’s what God wants, and it’s possible.

Finally we want to quote Kjell Sjöberg:
“The word church, in its original meaning, refers to the called out group of citizens who were gathered to decide about the affairs of the city”
