Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – part 132

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 15:29

Ps. 55:5
Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, And horror hath overwhelmed me
(Swedish version: “Fear and trembling hit me. Horror paralyzes me”)

Fear is an attack.

Fear is probably the most common way for the evil spiritual world to attack. The scripture above explains very well what it’s all about. Fear is not something we have, it’s something that hits us. Fear is an attack against us.

… horror hath overwhelmed me
(Swedish version: “… Horror paralyzes me”)

Fear makes us passive, it paralyzes us. Instead of candidly walking with God, we often get paralyzed by fear.

Fear doesn’t just paralyze, but it also makes us flee.

Ps. 55:6-8 (NKJV)
6 So I said, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.
7 Indeed, I would wander far off, And remain in the wilderness …
8 I would hasten my escape …

The word of God says:

Resist him, steadfast in the faith … (1 Pet. 5:9 NKJV)
