Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – part 125

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 15:03

Ps. 54:7
For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

A more literal translation of Ps. 54:7 is ”mine eye hath seen upon mine enemies”. David, who wrote this psalm, connects the fact that he had seen his enemies, with the fact that God had delivered him out of all trouble.

Notice that David says ”my eye” instead of “my eyes”. We can presume that had king David been one-eyed, it would surely have been mentioned in the bible. Here he is speaking of his inner eye, i.e. his spiritual sight.
God has provided us with the ability to expose demonic presence. That is a part of His plan to deliver us out of all trouble.

Why should we see the enemy? Because God has meant us to use the authority He has given to us to render the evil spirits harmless. As long as we just see the natural explanations for our troubles, we will not experience God’s deliverance for us out of ALL troubles.
