Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – part 119

Ps 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

God is … a very present help in trouble

God’s help is always present. Sometimes experiences from the past, or present, tell us that God doesn’t want to, or cannot, help. But the truth is His help is always present.
When Jesus was here on earth He made His Father’s will known. When Jesus healed, delivered and restored, He demonstrated His Father’s will and ability.

Jesus also demonstrated what a person who is born again is able to do. Jesus was not just the Son of God, he was also human, when He “went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil”.

Jesus confronted the evil spiritual world, and conquered it. During His life here on earth He met a lot of demonized persons, and the demons had to obey Him. In the same way the evil spirits have to obey when we, the believers, command them. But, we have to be aware of our mission, and our authority.

Before you decide whether God helps or not, you need to ask yourself if you have done your part or not.
God always helps, but He doesn’t do the job He has given YOU to do. Your mission is to make the evil spirits Jesus’ footstool (Ps. 110:1; Hebr. 10:12-13).
