Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – part 117

Scripture:

Ps. 46:1
… God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Comment:

The evil spiritual world causes trouble, but there is help.

There are so many kinds of trouble. Financial, emotional, and relational problems are just a few examples.

Ever since the devil attacked Adam and Eve, making them and mankind suffer, the evil spiritual world has continually harassed people. As long as we don’t see the attacks from the enemy behind our problems, we fight an uneven fight to get a solution for our problems. Part of the strategy of the enemy is to make us believe the problems are our fault, and that we don’t deserve living a better life. But, whatever wrong we have done, it’s not God’s plan to make us suffer the rest of our lives. There is just one kind of trouble that doesn’t come from the enemy, that is when our conscience reminds us of having sinned. That troublesome feeling is meant to make us confess our sin, turn around and walk forward with God.

God is our help in trouble, and it’s from Him we should expect help, not from people. People can be His tools to help, but the help comes from Him. When we understand that, we can look at our troubles in a new way. What seems impossible to us, God is able to solve.

We have just stated that God is able to get us out of our troubles. But at the same time, we have a responsibility to take the steps as God directs for the solution.

Let’s once again remind ourselves, we have a mission to render the evil spirits, getting us into trouble, harmless.
