Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – part 111

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 18:13

Scripture:

Ps. 42:9
I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

Comment:

God doesn’t forget us.

Many believers have experienced the feeling of having been forgotten by God. It’s an attack from the enemy; and there is a purpose behind it. The purpose is to take us away from God and His plan for us.

Chances are no one would respond if the enemy should tell us to leave God. Therefore he has to use tricks. We know that the devil is a thief (John 10:10) and he steals whatever he can. But he is not content with just stealing from us; he also wants it to look like it is God’s fault.

God always wants the best for us, and He always has good solutions for us, but He doesn’t drive away the enemy without our participation. When we don’t use our authority, therewill be consequences. You might have cried to God for help, and yet you see no answer. Then the enemy whispers in your ear that ‘God doesn’t want to help you’, or that ‘you have gotten so far away from Him, He cannot help you’. The truth is that the thief has stolen the solution God had prepared for you.

When we are in a situation where we feel like God has forgotten about us, it’s important to know that we are not called to follow our feelings, but to follow the truth of the Word of God. There it is written that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Jesus said, “I am with you always” (Matt 28:20), or like the Swedish version puts it, “I am with you every day until the end of time”.
