We are saved because of what Jesus did on Calvary, and because we have chosen to receive Him as our Saviour. We cannot get saved by works.

Jesus says in Matt. 7:22 that many will say to Him on Judgment Day that they have cast out demons in his name, and He shows us that will not help, when it comes to being saved for eternity.

Matt. 7:21-23
