Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – part 95

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 16:46

Ps. 35:23
Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.

(Swedish version: “Wake up, and rise to give me my right …”)

God never sleeps, but we can.

There are many believers who have told God to wake up and do something about their situation. When we see no answer to our prayers, we can very easily start thinking that God doesn’t see or act. But what is the truth?

Let’s make 5 statements:

1. God is always awake, and he is always aware of our problems. He saw our problems before we even got into them!
2. God has prepared a solution for every problem.
3. There is an enemy who wants to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10).
4. God doesn’t do for us what we should ourselves. It’s our task to command the enemy to leave.
5. God provides the power and authority to make the enemy flee, if we act by faith.

If we neglect to use the authority that has been given to us, the enemy will not flee, and because of the neglect, we allow him to steal God’s solution for our problem. Then we are tempted to believe that God is asleep.
