Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – part 93

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 21:48

Scripture:

Ps. 35:15
But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:

(Swedish version: They rejoice in my fall, they gather themselves together against me – I don’t know why. They mock me permanently)

Comment:

… they gather themselves together against me – I don’t know why …

We will meet with resistance whether we like it or not. Jesus has not promised us freedom from resistance. But, there is a big difference when we understand where the resistance comes from.

If we just look at the persons who gather themselves together against us, it will be hard to understand why they do it. But if we look at the evil spiritual world behind those person’s actions, we will understand more easily. Then we will see that it is not people who are our enemies, even though they are being used as tools to attack us. Our real enemies are “ … principalities… powers… the rulers of the darkness of this world, … spiritual wickedness in high places” (Eph. 6:12).

… They mock me permanently

Accusations are hard to receive, but mockery and contempt might be even worse. They are an attack on our self image. We have to have our identity in Christ in order to not receive other people’s contemptuous views of us. Remember it is the evil spirits who mock and contempt!
