Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – part 65

Ps. 18:39
For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me

God gives us power for the battle.

A very common way for the enemy to attack us is to make us believe that we do not have enough power for the battle. We might begin to fight with great zeal, but then the enemy increases the pressure on us. This increased pressure can come for example through circumstances or through the fact that people mistreat us. During these outer attacks, the enemy often sends thought darts. We often get thoughts along the line of: “I can never handle this” or “This will be too much for me”. When this happens, it is important to understand where these thoughts come from and it is important to know the truth. God gives us power. He does not intend for us to manage the battle with our own power, but he wants us to expect power from him.

How much power does God give? He gives enough power! He will NEVER give too little power.

Will we always feel that we have enough power? No, probably we will seldom feel like we have all the power that we need. It is not a matter of feeling; it is a matter of faith. We need to have a faith that KNOWS we have enough power. That faith grows when we read in the Word of God about who God is. He has all power, He is wise and He is good.

The question is not if God gives us enough power, the question is if we believe in it, and use it.
