Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – part 34

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 14:27

Scripture:

Ps. 7:6
Arise, O LORD, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.

Comment:

The Church needs to wake up.

Ps. 7:6 says: “…awake for me…” Does God sleep? No, of course he doesn’t. But at times it may seem like it, as the evil spiritual world is allowed to continue to harass us. As long as the Church (which God has chosen to use to stop the evil spiritual world) sleeps, we will not see any relief in the attacks. We can sigh and complain, and we may try to withdraw, but it will not help us. It will get worse! We are at war. Only when the Church does what it is supposed to do, we may expect a positive change.

In Rev. 3:2 Jesus tells the Church in Sardis to be watchful. In the Swedish Bible it says “wake up and keep awake“. Many, many congregations today need to do the same. We cannot sleep! If an army sleeps instead of fighting, it will lose. That goes for the army of God as well. We are not called to sleep and to lose the battle, but we are called to wake up and fight from the victory that is already won.
