Ps. 7:1
O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me.

Comment:

Our prayer to God needs to go hand in hand with exercising our authority.

David prayed: “Save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me“. We must never, ever loose the truth that God is the one who saves and delivers us. Without Him, we can do nothing.

God’s plan is not for us to develop our own power and ability, but to become more and more dependent on Him. It is by ‘dying’ from our own ability, we can be filled by God’s capability. And God’s capability is required for us to be able to serve Him at a time like this.

When we reach out to God in prayer, we acknowledge our need for Him. It helps us to get the right perspective on the spiritual warfare. But let’s not make the mistake of neglecting to use our authority! God lets His power work THROUGH us, when we in faith, use the authority given to us.

Consequently there is no contrast between praying to God and exercising our authority. Both are essential and should go hand in hand.

Consider:
Sometimes when you ask God for help, do you lose the fact that you should also use your authority against the enemy?
