Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – part 31

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare School — kellporten @ 16:18

Scripture:

Ps. 6:10 (NIV)
All my enemies will be ashamed and dismayed; they will turn back in sudden disgrace.

Comment:

The enemy has a reason to be afraid of you.

There is a fear among many believers of even talking about the devil and about evil spirits. For them to start confronting the evil spiritual world is totally out of the question. The enemy has worked on getting the believers into this fear for a long time, and his method above all has been to stop all sound teaching.

Over and over again we need to remind ourselves of the truth: The evil spiritual world is afraid of us!

To become effective in spiritual warfare we need to break off all disbelief and all incorrect teaching, and instead fill our mind with the truth from God’s word.

Let’s have a closer look at what Ps 6:10 says:

All my enemies will be ashamed and dismayed; they will turn back in sudden disgrace.

All my enemies…
All means all, i.e. there are no exceptions.

All my enemies
The evil spirits are your enemies, and they look upon you as an enemy. In other words you don’t get away from the war.

All my enemies will be ashamed
When we exercise our authority the enemy will be ashamed, i.e. his plans fail. We might not yet have reached that point, but it is still true.

All my enemies…will be dismayed
The evil spirits know that you are a potential threat. When you become aware of your authority, and start using it, the enemies will be very dismayed. They know that they don’t have any authority to use against you.

they will turn back in sudden disgrace
The Swedish Bible says: “in a hurry“, i.e. it is not a drawn-out process.
