Doubts about your salvation might come from the evil spiritual world.

Let me share some from my own experience. There was a time in my life when I based my salvation upon feelings. When I was ‘on top’ I felt absolutely saved, but when I was in ‘the deep valley’ I felt as if I was not saved at all. What I didn’t understand was that when I was down, my feelings became openings for demonic attack.

One day when I felt especially depressed and thought I was totally lost, I heard God speak to me. He didn’t speak with an audible voice, but I heard him in my spirit. God asked, “Can you undo Jesus’ death on Golgotha?” I answered, “No, I can’t”. Then he showed me what Jesus had done for me was the real foundation of my salvation, and that that truth cannot be changed by my feelings. From that moment on, the strength of the attacks decreased and finally the attacks were totally gone.

When I look back I realize that the evil spiritual world was behind my doubts about my salvation. Even though I at that time didn’t know about evil spirits, God still gave me the weapon that conquered them. He gave me the truth from his Word, and when I held on to that truth the evil spirits had to leave me alone.
