Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms – part 1

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Psalms — kellporten @ 22:14

Ps 1:1
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Who are the ungodly, who are giving counsel?

The ‘ungodly’ can be people of the world. They want us to follow their way of living, and many times we are coaxed into doing that. But we are not called to follow their advice, if it is in opposition to God and his orders. Instead we are supposed to be salt of the earth (Matt 5:13).

Or the ‘ungodly’ can be the evil spiritual world offering its ‘advice’. It is very important to know that the evil spirits are talking to our thoughts in order to betray us. We will be easier deceived if we receive those thoughts as are our own, rather than if we should hear a voice speak to us.

From here on ‘the ungodly’ will refer to the evil spiritual world.
