Prov. 25:26
A righteous man who falters before the wicked Is like a murky spring and a polluted well.

As believers we should never give in to the evil spiritual world.

The scripture talks about ”a righteous man”. If you have received Jesus as your Savior, you have also received His righteousness. At the same time you have received the Holy Spirit, and He is described as rivers of living water.

John 7:38-39
38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive …

The flow of the Holy Spirit within us is healthy and life-giving, and it’s supposed to flow from us to the people around us. Of course, it is God’s will that there should only be the Holy Spirit’s water and nothing else flowing out from us, but if we compromise with the attacks of the evil spirit world, we can also become channels for the evil. As believers, we can therefore be channels for both the Holy Spirit and the enemy. Then we run the risk of becoming murky springs.

We should never compromise with the evil spiritual world. Jesus has given us the authority to command the evil spirits attacking us, or others in our environment, to back off.

Luke 10:19
Behold, I give you the authority … over all the power of the enemy …

Use the authority that has been given to you, otherwise you compromise with the enemy. God, who wants to make you His uncompromising tool for people to be saved, healed and restored, wants you to be a clean spring, a flow of living water.
