Prov. 25:12
Like an earring of gold and an ornament of fine gold Is a wise rebuker to an obedient ear.

Comment:

A very important part of spiritual warfare is, guiding and admonishing people. The goal is to make evil spirits back off from them.

Demons do not enter into people just like that. They need openings. In order for us to be free, we don’t just need to cast out the evil spirits; the openings must also be closed. It is therefore an important part of the deliverance work to help people discover the openings. Then they need to confess before God the sins behind the openings. Only when we have confessed our sin before God, can the openings be closed.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

God has meant that every believer should cast out evil spirits (Mark 16:17). It is therefore important that believers receive teaching and personal guidance so that they can deal with the evil spirits who are attacking them.

Finally, Prov. 25:12 also talks about “an obedient ear“. No admonishment or instruction will be beneficial unless the receiver is ready to receive. Therefore, the enemy has worked hard on making Christians suspicious against anything that involves spiritual warfare.
