Prov. 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go…

How do we train our youth? Or, if we put the question in another way, what does the youth activity look like in our churches? Do we entertain them or, do we train them to be soldiers in the army of the Lord?

Ps. 127:4-5
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.
5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

Let’s paraphrase verse 5 as follows:

Happy is the church that has many trained young people. They will be successful in the spiritual battle for their city.

It is absolutely essential that our young people receive teaching about the spiritual battle, about our victory in Christ, and about our mission to deal with the evil spiritual world. Unfortunately, we do not see much of that today. It’s time for a wake-up call!
