Prov. 20:26
A wise king winnows out the wicked …

All of us, who have received Jesus as our Savior, have also been given a royal service to drive away evil spirits.

Unfortunately, there are many who believe that spiritual warfare is wrong, and sure enough, there have been excesses that have not been good. But, what other areas of the Christian life have been free from excesses? We need to see when there is something genuine, and not just look at mistakes.

Let’s not forget that it was Jesus who gave us the mission to cast out evil spirits.

Mark 16:17
And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons …

Jesus was talking about believers, not just the disciples.

What happens if we ignore spiritual warfare? The answer is, we allow the evil spirits to continue to wreak havoc with us. We allow, albeit indirectly, evil spirits to cause difficulties for ourselves, for our families, for our communities, etc.

So, to engage in spiritual warfare is not something bad. On the contrary, it is wise to use the authority that Jesus has given us.
