Spiritual Warfare in the Book of Proverbs – part 169

Filed under: Spiritual Warfare in Proverbs — kellporten @ 14:41

Prov. 18:7
A fool’s mouth is his destruction, And his lips are the snare of his soul.

We cannot emphasize enough the importance of the way we speak. With our words we release spiritual processes, leading to blessings or destruction. We might not think they are, but they are.

It cannot be stressed enough how important it is that we speak in the right way. With our words, we release a spiritual event, either blessing or destruction. We may not think it is dangerous to say “It will go to hell!”, but we must understand that we put in motion a process that could end in hell. The evil spirits understand our words, and they immediately begin working to fulfill those words.

Let’s repeat the examples of wrong talking that we mentioned in part 40.

  • ”This will go phut!”
  • ” He is totally hopeless!”
  • ” I wish I was dead!”
  • ” I always fail!”
  • ” There will never be a breakthrough in our city!”
  • ” My sickness is incurable!”

When a person speaks any of the above, do you think he really would like it to be like that? Hardly! He probably wants the opposite to happen, and so he needs to speak in accordance with that.

Let’s stop being foolish! Let’s begin to speak in faith and according to the Word of God! That will release God’s blessings.
