Prov. 18:4
The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters; The wellspring of wisdom is a flowing brook.

Before we comment on Prov. 18:4, let’s have a look at John 7:38.

John 7:38
He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water

Jesus showed that the power of the Holy Spirit is to flow like a river, in and out of the believer. Our innermost is a well from which the Holy Spirit flows, and His power is huge.

Eph. 3:20
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

We are bearers of the Holy Spirit’s mighty power, and we’ve received it for a purpose. We are called to release that power against the evil spiritual world.

We release the power of the Holy Spirit by speaking. In Prov. 18: 4 we read that our words are as deep waters, and from John 7: 38 we understand that that water is the power of the Holy Spirit. When we speak commands against the evil spiritual world, the power of the Holy Spirit flows through our words.

Ps. 8:2
Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.
