Wisdom is in the sight of him who has understanding, But the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth.

Comment:

We need to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in everything we do, especially in spiritual warfare. We will be effective in the battle when we do what the Holy Spirit says. It’s not about how amazing the actions are that we do. On the contrary, seemingly small acts of obedience can give the greatest victories.

When the enemy sees that he can’t keep us away from spiritual warfare, he instead tries to make us act too hasty. The enemy can offer great visions, for he knows that none of them will come true if we follow him instead of the Holy Spirit. That was how he tempted Jesus.

Matt. 4:8-9
8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”

Jesus saw through the trick of the devil. Jesus knew that there was no shortcut to gain the world. He had to follow the way His Father had prepared. Jesus did nothing without having received instructions from the Father.

John 5:19
Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.

We need to diligently listen to and obey the Holy Spirit. That way the kingdom of darkness can be pushed back and God’s kingdom be expanded.
